IMG Media, a division of IMG, the global sports, fashion and media company has concluded new deals in Asia and Europe for distribution of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF).

In Asia, IMG has secured broadcast coverage across South East Asia on KIX, the 24-hour action entertainment subscription channel, which will see the WSOF gain unprecedented coverage across the region, with action being broadcast in over 15 territories including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand for 2014 and 2015.

In Europe, a deal has been agreed with Sport TV for the all fights sports channel, Kombat Sport, to show WSOF events in French-speaking Europe as well as some African territories.

IMG Media signed a deal last year to globally represent the WSOF, which is expanding in 2014/15 with international events being staged in Canada, Japan, South America and Europe in addition to those in the US.

Hillary Mandel, IMG Media’s SVP, Head of Media North America, said: “The new deals in Asia and Europe will create an outstanding opportunity for the WSOF to significantly grow its international audience in regions in which it has otherwise lacked exposure.”

She added: “We are delighted to have brokered these deals which will showcase the events and the talented fighters from Asia, to both the die-hard supporters and a new generation of mixed martial arts fans.”

WSOF’s President Ray Sefo said: “Ever since we partnered with IMG Media last year, we have been extremely happy with the accomplishments we have achieved in international markets. We’ve got an incredible brand of MMA, and have our sights set on being on television sets in every country around the world. This expansion with KIX and Sport TV is a huge step in that direction and we look forward to entertaining millions of fans world-wide for years to come.”

World Series of Fighting’s growing roster of fighters features such superstars as Rousimar Palhares, Justin Gaethje, Jake Shields, Melvin Guillard, Jon Fitch, Yushin Okami and Josh Burkman, as well as promising talent such as Nick Newell, Marlon Moraes and Tyrone Spong, among others.
