Deerfield Beach, FL USA (April 4, 2011) – Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion “Suga” Rashad Evans has joined forces with Bodylastics International, Inc. to help bring world class fitness to MMA fans across the globe. Teaming up with former MMA fighter and coach Mike Van Arsdale and Bodylastics inventor Blake Kassel, Evans is featured in a brand new exercise video showcasing the Bodylastics system.

Cardiovascular conditioning is one of the most important aspects to being a successful fighter, and no one knows that more than “Suga.” Known for always being in incredible cardio condition, Evans’ passion for fitness and training has transcended the cage, leading to his interest in helping bring the Bodylastics system to the masses.

Bodylastics is a complete home gym system, designed in 1996 to outperform the most popular and expensive large bulky home gyms. The secret to Bodylastics smooth resistance is found in elastic tubing. Being light and flexible, and easy to store, while adding in levels of tension, has made the system one of the most popular in the United States. Since Bodylastics was first launched in 1998, over 500,000 units have been sold. It is considered the innovator and leader in its fitness category, including the use of D.G.S. Anti-Snap technology to make even the most demanding MMA training even safer.

Mixed martial arts is all about being fit. “This new workout will assure I am in the best shape as I train for my next championship battle,” said Rashad Evans, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

“Suga” Rashad Evans is a highly-disciplined, world class athlete, and champion MMA fighter who transcends from an athlete and sports star to a sports commentator, feature film and TV actor, company spokesperson, and active community contributor. He won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in electrifying fashion in 2008, and with impressive victories against highly-rated opponents such as Michael “The Count” Bisping, Keith Jardine, Stephan Bonnar, Chuck “Iceman” Liddell, Forrest Griffin, Thiago Silva, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Evans is one of the biggest stars in the MMA world today. In his most recent bout, “Suga” earned a crack at recapturing the UFC 205-pound belt, which will take place later this year.

“Bodylastics is excited to work with such a premier athlete like Rashad Evans,” commented Bodylastics founder and CEO, Blake Kassel. “And we are confident that the Bodylastics MMA Training System will help assure Rashad is ready to take his next championship.”
