Yesterday afternoon, UFC veteran and current The Ultimate Fighter 11 coach (opposite Chuck Liddell), Tito Ortiz, was arrested at his home in Huntington Beach. Celebrity gossip and news website TMZ.com is reporting that Ortiz was allegedly arrested “for domestic violence at the home he shares with Jenna Jameson.”

According to MMAJunkie:

Saul Soliz, Ortiz’s longtime trainer, told MMAjunkie.com he received no indication that the pair’s relationship had soured prior to the alleged incident.

“With me and Tito, it’s mostly business,” he said.

Longtime friends “Razor” Rob McCullough and Tiki Ghosen did not respond to requests for comment.

A report Monday afternoon from FoxNews.com said Ortiz in 1998 plead guilty to “battery with serious bodily injury” and was sentenced to three years probation, 29 days in jail and 232 hours of community service.

Late last night, Ortiz called a press conference to address the accusations:

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz … said an alleged domestic abuse incident with longtime girlfriend Jenna Jameson was prompted by Jameson’s addiction to the prescription opiate OxyContin.

“Unfortunately, Jenna relapsed this morning and suffered the consequences of that,” Chip Matthews, Ortiz’s personal lawyer, said at the press conference. “We’re here because Tito was trying to help her.”

Ortiz and Jameson have one-year-old twins together and Ortiz also has a son from a previous marriage.

Ortiz (15-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) lost a split decision to former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 106 in his most recent octagon appearance.
