EA SPORTS MMA Fighter Announcement – including Bobby Lashley

Just wanted to let you know we have announced another 5 fighters to the EA SPORTS MMA roster.  In addition, if you are not already aware, EA SPORTS MMA will be streaming live the Jay Hieron/Joe Riggs fight via www.easportsmma.com on Saturday, January 30 at 9:00 pm EST.  Since this is a non-televised preliminary card fight, our website will be the only way you can watch the fight live.  

ESPN.com currently has an article posted at http://sports.espn.go.com/videogames/news/story?id=4866479 regarding Bobby Lashley and his thoughts on being featured in the upcoming EA SPORTS MMA video game.  

Nick Diaz
Diaz is a former WEC and IFC Welterweight champion and will be fighting Marius Zaromskis for the STRIKEFORCE welterweight belt on January 30.  The 6’0”, 170 pound mixed martial arts fighter has a current record of 20-7 and is riding a current five-fight win streak.  He has defeated some impressive MMA fighters, such as Frank Shamrock, Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith. 

Marius Zaromskis
Zaromskis, a 5’9”, 170 pound fighter from Lithuania, holds a career record of 13-3.  He comes into the STRIKEFORCE welterweight title bout against Nick Diaz with a five-fight winning streak.  He has fought in DREAM and won DREAM’s 2009 Welterweight Grand Prix title. 

Joe Riggs
Riggs, a native of Sanford, Maine, is a former UFC fighter and puts his 32-10 record on the line as he faces Jay Hieron on January 30 in Miami.  The 6’0”, 185 pound MMA fighter is extremely versatile as he has competed at weights ranging from Heavyweight down to Welterweight. 

Melvin Manhoef
Melvin has an extensive kickboxing career is known for his aggressive fighting style and knockout power.   He currently holds a career record of 24-6 and competed in a variety of promotions, including DREAM, K-1 and Cage Rage.  The 5’8”, 205 pound MMA fighter will be taking on Robbie Lawler in the STRIKEFORCE fight on January 30.  

Bobby Lashley
Lashley is a relative newcomer to the sport of MMA and is currently undefeated with a career record of 4-0.  At 6’3” and 265 pounds, Lashley’s background is primarily in wrestling.  He won three national amateur wrestling championships while in college, wrestled in the WWE and currently competes in TNA Wrestling.
