at the International Festival of Bikers

New York, NY. (August 4, 2011). With Europe’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion growing increasing popular with two-wheel transportation enthusiasts, M-1 Global’s Russian MMA ‘proving ground’ scouting project ‘M-1 Fighter’ airs on Saturday, August 6 as a special event at the International Festival of Bikers exhibition in Northern Russia. The card streams live at 6:00 AM ET and features bouts between aspiring athletes looking to break into the sport.

The ‘M-1 Fighter’ project brings together young and promising athletes that have undergone a rigorous submission review and selection process. According to M-1 Global European matchmaker Alexander Shuldyakov, “These fighters participating in the M-1 Fighter event were selected based on a review of training video, their athletic accomplishments, their combat sports achievements and accomplishments and perceived level of marketability. The undiscovered talent pool within Russia’s MMA community is deep; this project gives these young fighters an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the right people.”

Kicking off the action is a pair of Featherweight bouts (145 Lbs.) pitting St. Petersburg natives Sanan Shakhbudagov and Pavel Vitruk in a head to head battle while Roman Trofimov faces Alexei Pastirev. The sole lightweight (155 Lbs.) contest features Georgiy Kovalev versus Radzhi Aliev.

Davrbek Isakov collides with Albert Ahmedov in Welterweight (170 Lbs.) contest while Middleweight (185 Lbs.) affairs see Christian Vuapi meeting Alexei Martinov and Oleg Lvov versus Yuri Tchurov.

Newcomers Maxim Veshnyakov and Dmitrii Nevinniy meet in a Light Heavyweight (205 Lbs.) bout and Heavyweights (265 Lbs.) Timur Shikhmagomedov and Dmitrii Alferiev round out the card.
