HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (July 29, 2011) All bouts are official for Saturday night’s STRIKEFORCE® and M-1 GLOBAL PRESENT: FEDOR vs. HENDERSON card as all fighters made weight inside the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., including Fedor Emelianenko (31-3, 1 NC) and Dan Henderson (27-8) who will headline the event LIVE on SHOWTIME starting at 10pm. ET.
“We’re excited for this card! Everything has gone extremely well,” said M-1 Global Director of Operations Evgeni Kogan. “The people at SHOWTIME have always been excellent to work with and Saturday night’s fight between Fedor and Dan Henderson will be monumental for the sport.”
The ‘Last Emperor’ tipped the scales lighter than most expected, coming in at 223 Lbs. Widely considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight fighters in the history of mixed martial arts, Emelianenko spoke with humility and determination after weighing in; “It is important for me to be at the top of my game. Right now all I am thinking about is this fight. Thanks be to God for blessing me with the abilities to be successful in what I do.”
Dan Henderson weighed in at 207 Lbs. for the card’s main event contest.
Gus Johnson calls the action on SHOWTIME with Mauro Ranallo and MMA legend Frank Shamrock serving as expert analysts.
The telecast will be produced by David Dinkins, Jr. and directed by Bob Dunphy.
